Food Buy Jimmy Dean Beef Jerky
If you’re like me, and love beef jerky, but are just plain tired of paying through the nose for what passes for it in the stores today, here’s a simple solution; learn to make it yourself. It’s incredibly easy, and you’ll not only save money, you’ll have a healthier and better tasting product.
Unlike Homemade Beef Jerky, Most Store Bought Brands Contain Preservatives
Most store bought brands of jerky treats these days contain additives and preservatives, not to mention sugar. I found this out the hard way as I began buying it as a snack for my diabetic son several years ago. As any parent can tell you, most children are constantly hungry. In the case of a diabetic child, this can be especially difficult as there just aren’t that many things that they can snack on that contain no sugars, other than a few green vegetables such as cucumbers or lettuce. Try getting a seven year old to munch on those!
Living in Georgia, when I first started buying jerky for my son, there was a brand available there that had no sugar in it. When I moved to North Carolina, I couldn’t find that particular brand, so I started buying other brands. I began to notice that after eating some of them, my son’s blood glucose levels would shoot up, so I checked the ingredients and found that they contained brown sugar and/or molasses. So much for store bought brands.
